Fresh-oil shop
In a shop, customers watching the oil come out is part of what they pay for, and crude, unfiltered oil is often the selling point. A Korean-type press fits on a shop floor and presses small sesame batches to order.

Move to a 325 when you sell more than a KHOP can press in your opening hours, or when you add peanut or sunflower oil, which need full-size loads. The Binzhou peanut oil shop model shows a 325 running in a walk-in shop.
Startup oil mill
A startup mill usually begins with one 325 for hot pressing, a roaster and a filter. One press handles about 600–800 kg of roasted seed in an eight-hour shift. Toll pressing, where farmers bring their own seed and pay a processing fee, gets a new mill running without buying seed stock. Small factory
A small factory adds presses rather than bigger presses. Two or three presses share one roaster and one filter, so each extra press costs much less than the first. Bottled oil for retailers needs a clear oil (filter at 60–70°C), storage tanks and a filling line. For cold-pressed products, use the 355–500 series. See the small oil mill setup and layout.

Lower the risk before you order

- Ask for the test-run video of your own unit before it ships.
- Confirm voltage, phase and frequency at your site before production starts.
- Order the wear parts with the press: separator plates, seals and filter paper.
- Work out the margin per 100 kg of seed with your local seed, oil and cake prices.

What is the best oil press for a small business?
For a shop pressing sesame to order, a Korean-type KHOP press. For a mill pressing roasted peanut, sesame or sunflower every day, a 325. For cold-pressed nut oils, the 355 series.
Should a startup buy a bigger press to allow for growth?
No. Add presses as sales grow. A bigger model presses the same barrel harder; it does not hold much more seed per load.
How much space does a small oil business need?
About 20–30 m² for a shop with a KHOP press, and about 30–50 m² for one full-size press with a roaster and filter.
